Born Demeter Maia and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, Demi is of proud Nga Puhi and Samoan parentage with some righteous Euro, by way of Switzerland and Ireland, and some skanking adoptive Jamaican thrown in for good measure.
Make no mistake though, she's a staunch all Kiwi Pasifikan homegirl with a heart of gold and a fearless take no shit attitude, tempered with a healthy dose of godly faith and humility.
Growing up, she attended total immersion Maori school before moving to Nelson and finishing her education at Nelson College for Girls. Now 19, she is currently studying for a BA in Performing Arts at Otago University and looking to leave her mark on the musical world.
